Bar steel manufacturer Ferrosider, Italy, has placed an order with SMS Meer SpA, Italy, for the supply of equipment for the finishing line and for online straightening of sections for their mill in Ospitaletto, Italy.

SMS Meer’s scope of supply includes the equipment for cooling the sections and layer transfer facilities, a complete multi-strand straightening group including quick straightening roller changing and all ancillary devices. The order also covers the electric equipment and automation as well as the supervision of erection and commissioning.

The new equipment will be installed in a mill with a 90 tonne/hour capacity.
