SMS Meer to Supply Rebar Heat Treat System for INI Steel
08/01/2005 - Korean bar steel manufacturer INI Steel Co. Ltd. has placed an order with SMS Meer, Italy, for the supply of heat treatment facilities for quenching and self-tempering rebars at its Dangjin Works.
Korean bar steel manufacturer INI Steel Co. Ltd. has placed an order with SMS Meer, Italy, for the supply of heat treatment facilities for quenching and self-tempering rebars at its Dangjin Works.
SMS Meer’s scope of supply includes multi-strand water quenching boxes, a transfer car for shifting the boxes out of the line, and a pressure booster station. SMS Meer will also provide the electrical equipment and automation, as well as supervision of erection and commissioning and training of personnel.
The system for cooling the rebars with 10 and 13 mm diameter (four strands) and 16 to 22 mm (two strands) will be installed in an existing mill with a nominal annual capacity of 1,200,000 tonnes.
The new mill is scheduled to go into full production in 2005.
