SMS Meer Revamping Chinese Pipe Mill to Allow Larger Diameter Tube Production
11/09/2012 - SMS Meer received an order to revamp Anhui Tianda Oil Pipe's mill in Anhui province, China, to allow the company to produce tubes up to an outside diameter of 13 3/8".
Anhui Tianda Oil Pipe from the Chinese province Anhui has been successfully operating a PQF® mill from SMS Meer for the production of seamless tubes since 2007. Until now the mill has produced tubes up to an outside diameter of 10¾". After revamping by SMS Meer, Anhui Tianda Oil will be able to produce tubes up to an outside diameter of 13 3/8".
Twelve new PQF® stands, including engineering, the necessary tools, the mathematical model and roll sizing will allow larger outside diameters to be produced.
The new PQF® stands can be installed in the existing mill without any notable modifications.
Delivery of the stands is scheduled for the end of 2012.
