SMS Meer Providing Second Bright Steel Center for Stahl Judenburg
12/19/2012 - Stainless steel specialist Stahl Judenburg of Austria has placed a second order with SMS Meer for the production and supply of a BC50 bright steel center.
Stahl Judenburg (Austria) has again decided in favor of the technology from SMS Meer. The stainless steel specialist placed the second order with the company for the production and supply of a BC50 bright steel center.
The core elements of the center are the PM1 peeling machine and WRP100 bar straightener.
The new bright steel center can process bars with diameters from 15 to 55 mm and lengths from 2,500 to 7,000 mm. SMS Meer had already supplied a similar installation to Judenburg in 2006.

Stahl Judenburg manufactures bright, smooth steel for the automotive industry. In engine and plant engineering, the products are used as chrome-plated piston rods.
The peeling machines of the PM Series from SMS Meer cover a size range from 7 to 200 mm. In conjunction with a WRP straightening and polishing machine, very high demands on straightness and surface finish can be satisfied. To date, SMS Meer has delivered 26 machines worldwide.
The machines are scheduled to go into operation in June 2013.
