SMS Logistiksysteme to Supply Coil Transport System to Ternium Siderar
08/10/2011 - Ternium Siderar has placed an order with SMS Logistiksysteme GmbH to design and supply a complete coil conveying system for the company’s hot rolling mill in San Nicolas, Argentina.
Ternium Siderar has placed an order with SMS Logistiksysteme GmbH to design and supply a complete coil conveying system for the company’s hot rolling mill in San Nicolas, Argentina.
SMS Logistiksysteme’s scope of supply comprises the pallet transport system with a total of six strapping machines, a marking robot, two coil weighing machines, and a semi-automatic inspection line.
The pallet transport system will have an overall length of 330 meters. The plant layout will be designed so that the coil transport system can be extended at a future date. SMS Logistiksysteme will supply the complete strapping and marking machines and put them into service, while the automation system will be supplied by Ternium Siderar. SMS Logistiksysteme will fully assemble and test the strapping and marking machines before dispatching them to Argentina.
This contract marks SMS Logistiksysteme’s first major direct order in Argentina.
