SMS group Wins Caster Maintenance Contract
11/09/2016 - Gerdau Ouro Branco has awarded SMS group a three-year contract for maintenance services, the mill equipment maker has announced.
According to SMS group, the agreement covers service and maintenance on the operation’s continuous slab caster and the beam blank and bloom caster. The company will be responsible for repairs to and coating of the copper mold plates and repairs to the caster rolls. The repair work will be performed in SMS group’s Brazilian workshop.
“We are very proud that Gerdau has entrusted us with these tasks. It shows that we made the right decision in investing continuously in our staff and in our machinery and mechanical equipment,” Marcellus Piedade, SMS group's vice president of technical services in Brazil, said in a statement.
