SMS group Lands Supporting Order for Galvanizing Line Project
12/05/2017 - SMS group has received a supplementary order for a production planning system to serve the US$176 million pickling and galvanizing line it is building for Nucor Corp.’s Gallatin sheet mill in Kentucky.
According to SMS, the X-Pact Manufacturing Execution System will tie into the line’s automation system and generate production orders from customer orders; establish production sequences; and produce business intelligence reports.
The line is being designed to produce 500,000 tons annually and is scheduled to enter service in 2019.
