In a statement, SMS said the line will be designed to coat 350,000 tons annually.

“The line is to be completely supplied by SMS group. All mechanical and process technological components, including furnace and air-knife system, as well as all electrical and automation systems, are part of SMS group’s package, too. Also included in the scope of supply is the supervision of erection and commissioning,” the company said in a statement.

The new line will be capable of processing to strips in widths of up to 1,350 mm and in thicknesses of between 0.3 mm and 2 mm.

The output will be primarily sold into the construction and home appliance markets.
