According to SMS group, the caster is able to produce slabs in widths of up to 3,250 mm, the widest in the world. It is capable of producing 1.5 million metric tons’ worth of slabs annually  and will cast  structural steels and micro- and low-alloy grades.
 
In addition to the caster, SMS group supplied a suite of digitalization technologies, including its high-definition laser aligning system; HD mold^TC thermocouples; HD mold^FO fiber optic sensors; Breakout Prevention Assist and Mold Temperature Assist systems; and XPact® electrical and automation systems for smart data processing and process automation.
