SMS group Awarded Final Acceptance Certificate for EAF Upgrade at Siam Yamato
09/09/2020 - Siam Yamato has granted final acceptance of a ConSo R6 injector technology upgrade for the No. 1 electric arc furnace at its Rayong, Thailand, site, according to project contractor SMS group.
SMS group had previously installed ConSo R6 injector technology on Siam Yamato’s electric arc furnace (EAF) No. 2 in 2010, along with a complete mini-mill.
The ConSo R6 injectors come with a fully automatic early detection system backflash detection system to prevent damage of the injectors and the water boxes due to backflashing flames.
The scope of supply for the No. 1 EAF included five complete ConSo R6 combined oxygen injectors (5 MW each), oxygen and valve stands, a new carbon injection system, and a complete automation system.
