SMS group Automates Shearing Line for Jiangsu Shagang Group
08/27/2020 - Jiangsu Shagang Group in Zhangjiagang, China, has commissioned – ahead of schedule – a shearing line automation system, said project contractor SMS group.
In a statement, SMS group said it installed its X-Pact system on the No. 2 line, which serves a 3.5-m plate rolling mill.
During commissioning, SMS group joined forces with the team at Jiangsu Shagang to reduce the commissioning time to just 10 days, providing economic benefits of more than 10 million yuan that month, SMS group said.
SMS group previously installed basic automation system and a high-precision process automation system for the plate rolling mill, which is capable of producing 2.8 million metric tons annually.
