SMS Concast to Deliver Three-Strand Billet Casting Plant to Turkey
09/12/2013 - Asil Celik of Orhangazi, Turkey, has commissioned SMS Concast of Switzerland with the supply of a new three-strand billet caster.
The continuous caster will produce round blooms at a diameter of 300 to 600 millimeters with a production capacity of 600,000 tons per year. The three-strand billet casting plant will start production in the first quarter of 2015.
Asil Celik is a world-renowned producer of quality steel and the largest company of its kind in Turkey accounting for 60% of Turkey’s total quality steel production and exporting approximately 40% of its products.
The product range of Asil Celik includes hot rolled, heat-treated, alloyed, non-alloyed as well as high-alloyed steel products in round, square, hexagonal, flat shape as well as sections for grading buckets. The products are used in automotive, automotive supplier, OEMs and engineering industries.
