SMA Presents Achievement in Advocacy Award to Steel Dynamics VP
05/16/2014 - The Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) presented its James F. Collins Achievement in Advocacy Award to John Nolan, vice president of product development for Steel Dynamics, during SMA’s Annual Members Conference at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.
SMA chairman, Dick Teets, said: “John has approached his work on steel industry matters involving government trade policy and both U.S. and international trade laws with the level of knowledge, passion and commitment needed to influence public policy decisions at the highest levels.”
Current SMA president, Philip K. Bell added: “John is only the third recipient of this prestigious award named after SMA’s first president James Collins. John’s role as a policy advisor to the government and his early engagement and articulation of ideas surrounding currency manipulation make him a deserving recipient of this SMA honor.”
