Siemens VAI to Supply Reducing/Sizing Mill for new Quzhou Yuanli Bar Mill

Quzhou Yuanli Metal Products Co., Ltd., China, has placed an order with Siemens VAI for a new Bar Reducing/Sizing Mill. Quzhou Yuanli’s objective for the new reducing and sizing mill is to achieve greater operating efficiency, improved product tolerance, and improved mechanical properties.
 
The reducing and sizing mill equipment is to be incorporated into the mill layout for a completely new bar mill that will be erected in Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, P.R. China. The mill will produce 800,000 tonnes per year of special bar quality (SBQ) steel grades.
 
Quzhou Yuanli’s new mill will produce bars ranging from 25 to 60 mm through the bar reducing and sizing mill.
 
Siemens’ scope of supply includes a three-stand 360 bar reducing and sizing mill with a mechatronic control package, Also included is the provision of engineering for related components, including pre- and post-water cooling equipment, roller table assemblies, a heavy-duty shear arrangement before the reducing and sizing mill, and associated fluids systems. Siemens VAI also will supervise erection and installation of the mill.
 
Commissioning of the new bar mill is expected for early 2011.
 
Established in 1991, Quzhou Yuanli is an integrated iron and steel works manufacturer with an annual output of 500,000 tonnes of steel and 300,000 tonnes of metal products. Siemens VAI commissioned a rod mill for Yuanli at the same site in 2007,.
