Siemens VAI to Supply Process Technology for Loften Rolling Lines
04/01/2009 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies receives order from China’s Shandong Loften Aluminium Foil to supply six process automation systems for the company's rolling lines.
Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has received an order from Shandong Loften Aluminium Foil Industry Co. Ltd., China, to supply six process automation systems for the company's rolling lines.
The upgrade project, which carries a volume of four million euros, also encompasses equipment for flatness measurement and spray cooling. Siemens will install Siroll Air Bearing Shapemeters for flatness measurement and Siroll ISV Sprays for spray cooling on Loften Aluminium’s cold rolling mill and foil rolling lines. The systems will help to optimize the production process, improve the quality of the final products and increase plant productivity.
Siemens is also responsible for installation and commissioning of all the systems.
Shandong Loften Aluminium is scheduled to begin operating its new systems in 2010. The project marks the third Chinese aluminum producer to order process technology from Siemens in the last few months.
Located in the east Chinese province of Shandong, Shandong Loften Aluminium Foil Industry will have an annual production rate of around 100,000 tonnes of high-quality aluminum foil in 2010, for applications in the pharmaceutical industry, the packing industry and private households.
