Siemens Names New Vice President of Metals Technologies Business in U.S.

Siemens announced that Albrecht Neumann has been appointed vice president of the company’s Metals Technologies business unit in the United States effective 1 October 2012. In this role, Neumann will be responsible for leading the Metals Technologies business unit with a focus on building partnerships with U.S. metals customers and highlighting a portfolio of products and services that improve the productivity and energy efficiency of their manufacturing operations.

"Albrecht is a dynamic leader who brings with him 24 years of Siemens experience," said Helmuth Ludwig, CEO, Siemens Industry, Inc. "His longstanding commitment to serving Siemens customers and driving growth will be key elements to the continued success of this business."

In 1988 Neumann joined Siemens as a commissioning engineer for pulp and paper plants and then as an application engineer, where he held multiple levels of responsibility for sales, projects and service organizations. He was later appointed to many leadership roles, including regional head of the Industry Solutions division, which then housed the Metals Technologies business unit; and his most recent position as head of both the Customer Services division and the Metals Technologies business unit in Germany. Additionally Neumann was instrumental in launching a new vertical market growth strategy for Siemens, and has significant experience in the food and beverage, cement, and water and wastewater industries.

Neumann succeeds Aashish Gupta, who was appointed Metals Technologies Global Segment Head, Casting and Rolling, and will report to Ludwig.
