According to Sidenor, the project was initiated in 2018. The first phase allowed for 410-mm- and 525-mm-diameter formats. The new range allows the company “to access new products which have a high added value for its customers and add in its steel catalogue elements which differentiate the company from its competitors.”
 
To accommodate the new bloom format, new molds and agitators will be purchased, and the company will modify its dragging modules and transfer load capacity.
 
The company is targeting production of the new bloom format in September 2022, with mechanical modifications starting in May.
