Shougang Selects Danieli EAF Technology for Automotive Exposed Grades
11/05/2024 - China’s Shougang has awarded Danieli a contract for a 160-ton ZERO BUCKET® electric arc furnace, which will be used to produce automotive exposed grades, Danieli announced.
The new furnace will feature horizontal preheating and continuous charging technology, which minimizes carbon dioxide emissions and provides flexibility in raw material charging, lower energy consumption, and greater reliability, with less noise and pollutant emissions, according to a press release from Danieli.
The furnace will be installed at Shougang’s Qian'an steel works in Hebei Province. Construction will begin in October 2025 with a targeted completion date of December 2026.
