Severstal's Izhora Pipe Mill Achieves European Accreditation
11/06/2013 - Severstal’s Izhora Pipe Mill has received certification allowing it to supply pipes to the European market, which would include the South Stream pipe line system’s on-land sections.
The Izhora Pipe Mill, located in St. Petersburg, met all the necessary standards for certification according to directives 97/23/EC and regulations (EU) №305/2011. Furthermore, all of the plant’s welders and welding processes were certified according to the EN 287−1:2011 standard.
Nikolay Skorokhvatov, CEO of the Izhora Pipe Mill, commented, “This EU certification is an important development for our company. We were very diligent in ensuring that all necessary preparations were made and resources were available to achieve this. In August 2013, the mill was audited by representatives from TUV Rheinland, the certification organization.
