Severstal Receives GOSGRANT Support for Social Projects

OAO Severstal has been awarded the Support for Social Projects prize at the 2nd Congress of Nonprofit Organizations of Russia and All-Russia Conference (GOSGRANT) awards. Severstal was selected for the award based on its Road Home program.
 
Experts described Severstal’s Road Home program in Cherepovets, where the Cherepovets Steel Mill, Severstal’s core business unit is located, to be one of the best examples of a successful public-private partnership combating the problem of social orphanage and child homelessness in Russia.
 
Severstal was a winner in 2010 at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs’ annual awards in the categories of “Social Investments and Projects” and “Energy Efficiency”. In 2010, the company was also recognized at the People Investor awards in the “Innovative Approach to Addressing the Development of Local Communities” category.
 
Research conducted by Vedomosti and PWC along with the Donors’ Forum also determined that Severstal won the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade’s prize for the best charitable program aimed at developing local communities. In 2010 Severstal was also ranked amongst the top ten Russian companies for charity efficiency.
