Severstal Plans Pickling Line Upgrade
05/31/2016 - Severstal has ordered a double-headed edge trimmer for the No. 3 continuous pickling line at its facility in Cherepovets, Russia, the vendor on the project has announced.
According to the vendor, SMS group, the goal of the project is to boost line capacity by increasing the trimmer’s availability and improve strip edge quality.
SMS said the trimmer features automatic setting control, an integrated scrap chopper and a maximum cutting speed of 360 m/minute. The unit will be designed to process strip in thicknesses of between 1.2 mm and 6 mm and in widths of between 700 mm and 1,650 mm.
The pre-assembled unit will be delivered within 10 months.
