Severstal North America Appoints General Manager, Metallics Purchasing
12/26/2012 - Severstal North America has appointed Mr. Sachin Shivaram, general manager, metallics purchasing, reporting to Mr. Saikat Dey, chief strategy and procurement officer.
Severstal North America has appointed Mr. Sachin Shivaram, general manager, metallics purchasing, reporting to Mr. Saikat Dey, chief strategy and procurement officer. He will be based in Columbus, Miss.
Sachin joins Severstal from ArcelorMittal, where he was most recently head of strategy and marketing for Long Carbon Americas in Chicago. Previously, he also held the positions of director, strategy and director, sales for ArcelorMittal in Mexico City. Sachin began his career as an associate for McKinsey and Company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and literature from Harvard University, a Master of Philosophy in political science from the University of Cambridge and a Law degree from Yale University.
“We are pleased to welcome Sachin to our team. His credentials and knowledge of the steel industry will be a great asset to our organization,” said Dey.
