Severstal Increases Supplies to the Construction Industry by 17% in First Half of Year
08/15/2013 - The Cherepovets Steel Mill, one of the world’s largest integrated steel mills and part of the Russian Steel division of OAO Severstal, announced that it boosted supplies to building contractors in Russia up to 1,635,000 tonnes in the first half of 2013. This is a 17% increase from the same period in 2012.
The growth was based on increased supplies of long steel (up 42%), cold rolled products (up 17%), pre-coated steel products (up 30%), pipes and rolled products (up 18%).
Dmitry Goroshkov, marketing and sales director of Severstal’s Russian Steel division, said: “Our priority is to understand our end customers and fully meet their needs. That is why we have launched our own distribution channel and are constantly developing new products for the construction industry.”
In the first half of 2013 Severstal Invest’s trading network (part of the Severstal Russian Steel division’s distribution channel) sold 45,000 tonnes of steel products from the Cherepovets Steel Mill to construction companies.
