Sesa Goa Appoints New Corporate Communications Head

Sesa Goa Ltd., India's largest private sector producer and exporter of iron ore, announced the appointment of a new head of corporate communications. With experience of over 25 years in different communication-related assignments, Sanjeev Verma has been entrusted with the overall responsibility for the development and implementation of Sesa Goa's communication outreach strategy.
Prasun K. Mukherjee, the managing director of Sesa Goa, said: "Sanjeev's rich experience as a journalist, as well as a corporate communication specialist, is just the mix this company needs as it prepares to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Sanjeev has earlier worked with brands such as Max New York Life, Dell, Reliance Power, Moser Baer and Satyam Infoway. As a journalist, he has been a writer and broadcaster for several publications and electronic media channels.
Sesa Goa is India's largest producer and exporter of iron ore in the private sector, until the mining operations were suspended in Karnataka, followed by Goa. Apart from Goa and Karnataka, the company has a large integrated project site in Liberia, West Africa. Founded in 1954, for about six decades, Sesa has been involved in iron ore exploration, mining, beneficiation and exports. Sesa also manufactures pig iron and metallurgical coke, with a 560,000 tonnes per year metallurgical coke plant and a 625,000 tonnes per year pig iron plant in Goa, and an associated 60 MW power plant.
