SES Strikes Up Joint Venture With German Equipment Builder

The joint venture, Achenbach-SES, pairs Achenbach’s technology with SES’ engineering know-how and manufacturing capabilities, giving customers improved access to new machinery and supporting them with technical services that are closer to home.

“Achenbach’s high-level German technology, together with the advanced engineering and manufacturing facilities of SES, will allow this new joint venture to offer unparalleled machinery and technology, backed by American engineering, construction and after-sales service to the North American market,” the companies said in a statement.

Achenbach is perhaps best known for its non-ferrous rolling mills and foil slitting machines. But it also offers automation and measurement technology that has applications in the steel industry, the companies said.

The joint venture is based at SES’ Alliance, Ohio, USA, headquarters.

“The cooperation of Achenbach and SES will facilitate and support North American projects in both sales service. A U.S.-based presence, as established by the joint venture, will offer easier (access to replacement parts) and services, allowing us to provide quick and qualified service throughout the entire life cycle,” the companies said.
