Serbia Puts Nationalized Mill on Sales Block
03/04/2016 - The Serbian government is looking to sell a steel mill that it acquired -- for $1 -- from United States Steel Corporation in 2012, reports the Reuters news service.
The government has set a deadline of 30 March for binding bids on the Zelezara Smederevo mill. It also has set a bidding floor price of US$50 million, Reuters said.
Serbia acquired the plant and nationalized it in order to keep it running and save 5,000 jobs, Reuters said.
