SDI Wins Tax Break for Mill Site
06/27/2019 - A Texas school board has greenlighted a tax incentive plan for Steel Dynamics Inc., seemingly clearing the way for a final decision on the steelmaker’s planned US$1.8 billion flat-rolled mill.
According to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times newspaper, the Sinton Independent School District approved the plan during a meeting Thursday morning.
"We just feel like this decision by the board could have a huge impact on the district, the community, the county and the state of Texas," school district superintendent Chad Jones told the newspaper. "We're just very excited, and we're hopeful that they choose Sinton."
