Under the contract, SMS group will equip the integrated hot rolling and cold rolling facility, which will produce 650,000 tons annually for the beverage, automotive and industrial markets. The scope of supply includes the hot strip mill, two tandem cold mills, a single-stand cold rolling mill and two high-bay storage systems. 

The equipment will be electrically supplied from one source, SMS group said. 

“Thanks to this integrated approach, SMS is ensuring that the electrical and automation systems work in perfect harmony, helping to shorten the plant ramp-up time and increase the overall performance of the entire aluminum flat rolling mill,” the company said. 

The hot strip mill will be set up in a 1+4 configuration and will consist of a roughing mill with attached edger and a 4-stand finishing mill in the 4-high, continuously variable crown design.

Final strip thickness will range from 1.8 mm to 7 mm in widths up to 2,450 mm.

The rolling mill complex is expected to start production in the first half of 2025.
