Scrap Metal Services to Provide Mill Services for FRISA’s New Mexican Facility

FRISA — a manufacturer of seamless rolled rings and open dye forgings, based in Monterrey, Mexico, — is in the process of enlarging its Santa Catarina facility. Once operational, SMS affiliate SMS Foremex Srl  de CV will be managing the hot and cold slag and processing the scrap metal and by-products produced during the steelmaking process. In addition to providing support during the operational phase, SMS is partnering with FRISA during the engineering and construction phases to build a facility that meets the same world class standards that has positioned FRISA as a strategic and reliable supplier of an extensive range of high quality carbon, alloy, stainless steel, titanium and superalloy products.

Just as SMS has steadily grown by expanding its capabilities and diversifying, FRISA began as a small forging company serving the needs of local customers and now enjoys a recognized presence in the international market. Both FRISA and SMS are excited about this opportunity to partner together, with the common goal of providing unsurpassed quality and customer service as part of the forging evolution.
