SCHADE Lagertechnik to Outfit New Iron Ore Stockyard
03/17/2020 - Port logistics provider Ultramar has contracted SCHADE Lagertechnik GmbH to equip the stockyard of a new iron ore terminal at a Russian port.
In a statement, SCHADE said it is supplying a portal reclaimer that has a capacity of 2,500 metric tons per hour, a rotating stacker, a wagon tippler and two hybrid apron feeders that are being delivered by sister company AUMUND Fördertechnik. The equipment is bound for the Baltic port of Ust-Luga.
The machines are to stack and reclaim iron ore pellets for Lebedinsky GOK, which is part of Metalloinvest.
“The specialized SCHADE technology guarantees that the iron ore pellets are not damaged during handling. This is, for example, achieved by defining a 32-degree tilt for unloading material from the wagons into the bunkers. The boom of the stacker is structured to tip the fragile pellets with a drop of less than 1 m,” SCHADE said.
SCHADE is part of the AUMUND Group.
