Salzgitter Divests Mannesmann Stainless Tubes Business
02/20/2024 - Italy's Cogne Acciai Speciali has acquired the Mannesmann Stainless Tubes Group from Salzgitter Ag for EUR135 million, Salzgitter said on Tuesday.
Mannesmann Stainless Tubes makes seamless stainless steel and nickel-based tubes for the power plan, chemical and petrochemical industries. It has manufacturing sites in Germany, France, Italy and the U.S.
"We are pursuing active portfolio management with strategic acquisitions and growth steps, as well as sales of companies that are not part of our defined development areas," said Salzgitter AG chief financial officer Burkhard Becker.
"This approach is an integral part of our 'Salzgitter AG 2030' Group strategy. Cogne provides Mannesmann Stainless Tubes and its employees further reaching entrepreneurial opportunities within the new network, and ranks as a renowned industrial partner."
Cogne Acciai Speciali is an international group of companies with production facilities on three continents and sales offices in all economically significant regions of the world. Cogne manufactures stainless and nickel-based long products for aerospace, automotive, energy, medical technology, food, chemical and plant engineering applications, in addition to general mechanical engineering.
