Salzgitter Companies Win ZF Supplier Award 2010
09/28/2010 - ZF Friedrichshafen AG has distinguished Salzgitter Flachstahl and Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision with the ZF Supplier Award, which is annually bestowed upon its five top suppliers determined through a standardized selection procedure.
ZF Friedrichshafen AG distinguished Salzgitter Flachstahl (SZFG) and Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision (SMP) with the ZF Supplier Award. Every year, ZF Friedrichshafen bestows the award on its five top suppliers, which are determined through a standardized selection procedure that considers the best quality, exceptional technologies, efficient logistics processes, and competitive cost structures.
The Salzgitter companies can now refer to themselves as “Top Supplier to the ZF Group.”
Both Salzgitter companies have enjoyed many years of successful cooperation with ZF Sachs AG, Schweinfurt, as well as ZF Lemförder GmbH, both subsidiaries of ZF Friedrichshafen AG.
Salzgitter Flachstahl provides ZF with hot-rolled wide strip and strip steel for the manufacture of shock absorbers, clutches, transmissions, steering systems, axles, and vehicle components.
SMP supplies seamless precision steel tubes such as shock absorber cylinder tubes, piston rod tubes, as well as precision tubes for cylinder sleeves, piston bosses, metal parts and shock and impact absorbers. The production sites also provide tubes for rotary parts and roller bearing tubes. These tubes are manufactured by locations in Germany, France, and Mexico and are delivered to ZF plants worldwide.
