Mubea, which specializes in automotive chassis, body and engine components, is a Salzgitter customer and plans to increase the use of green steels in its components in the years ahead, Salzgitter said. 

“The large number of our partnering agreements show that the markets for ‘green steel’ are emerging and that different customer sectors are striving to work together,” said Salzgitter Flachstahl sales director Phillip Meiser. 

“Furthermore, our partners are interested in realizing closed loops in order to take the supply of raw materials and the disposal recyclables to a new level. To this end, new logistics concepts are to be established between the integrated steelworks in Salzgitter and a number of Mubea sites in Europe,” he added.
