SAIL Trials AI-Based Predictive Monitoring System
11/16/2021 - According to reports, Steel Authority of India Ltd.’s (SAIL) Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) began a trial of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based predictive monitoring system on Sunday.
BSL has been working in cooperation with M/S MINTO AI to enhance the predictive system via its spidersense™ Industrial Internet of Things platform, says The Times of India.
Smart sensors have been installed in the sinter plant, blast furnace and in the hot strip mill as part of the trial.
“These sensors use AI, deep process knowledge and physics to provide operational intelligence to plant engineers and operators which help in planning the maintenance based on predictive monitoring and alerts,” Manikant Dhan, BSL’s chief of communication, said.
