SAIL Records Sales Increase in December

Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) achieved sales of 1.3 million tonnes in the domestic market during December, growth of 32% compared to December 2008. The company also posted growth of 23% during Q3 over the corresponding period of last year.
Sales of SAIL TMT (thermo-mechanically treated rebar for construction) grew by 33% in Q3 compared to the same period last year, while Plates registered growth of 36%.
SAIL also registered record sales of 116,000 tonnes through its dealer distribution network in December 2009.
