According to an announcement from Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh, the new mill will be capable of producing 50,000 metric tons annually and will make pipe and tube for use as water and sewer lines and in construction.

"This unit will play an important role in the development of the predominantly agriculture-intensive area which has a huge requirement for pipes," Singh said in a statement. 

SAIL began commissioning the mill last month.
