Ruukki to Deliver Suction Anchors, Offshore Steels to Aker Solutions

Ruukki has signed an agreement with Aker Solutions of Norway to supply 24 suction anchors in September 2010 from its Kalajoki unit in Finland. Ruukki also has supplied offshore steels for the same project.
 
The suction anchors and offshore steel plates will be used in the Goliat field in the Barents Sea. The suction anchors, which are used to anchor subsea manifolds to the sea bed, will be 5.5 meters in diameter and about 6.7 to 9.7 meters in height. They will be installed at water depths up to 400 meters and fixed to the bottom soil by vacuum.
 
Ruukki has previously delivered suction anchors to Aker Solutions for the production platform in the Gjøa field.
