Ruukki to Deliver Steel Frame for Large Shopping Center in Russia
03/06/2014 - Ruukki is to deliver a technically complex steel frame for the Gud-OK shopping center, which is to be built in Samara in the Volzhsky District in Russia.
When completed, the center will have a total area of 244,850 square meters. The order is worth around € 8 million.
When completed, the shopping center complex will also house a cinema and restaurant and office space. Other auxiliary space and parking facilities for a total of 3,500 vehicles will be built in conjunction with the shopping center. The steel frame will be manufactured at Ruukki's plant in Obninsk, Russia, and construction work on the shopping center is scheduled to start in autumn this year.
"The several orders we have received in recent years in the Samara area tell about customer confidence in us. This order tells about the customer's confidence in Ruukki's ability to design technically demanding building solutions," said Jussi Tuisku, vice president, Russia and CIS, at Ruukki.
Ruukki has earlier delivered a steel frame for the extension to Viktor and Co's shopping entertainment center in the city of Samara and for many other commercial buildings, including supermarkets, in the area.
