Ruukki has signed a steel structure contract for the delivery of the foundation piles for the Särkijärvi bridge in Tampere, Finland. Ruukki will also deliver almost 6 km of large diameter steel pipe piles fitted with rock shoes for the foundations of more than 20 bridges in the highway 5 improvement project in Kuopio, Finland. The company will deliver a total of 15 km of scaffolding piles for the projects in Tampere and Kuopio.
The orders are worth a total of around EUR 4 million.
"The high degree of prefabrication of the structures in the steel bridge solution and delivery accuracy of cut-to-size piles will reduce welding work at the site. This in turn will shorten construction time and thus speed up completion of the entire project," said Managing Director Sami Rantala from the engineering office of Insinööritoimisto Seppo Rantala Oy, which is Ruukki's customer in both projects.
The steel structures will be made at Ruukki's plant in Ylivieska, the steel pipe piles in Oulainen, and the scaffolding piles in Pulkkila, Finland.
