Ruukki Secures Bridge Contract in Sweden
10/04/2010 - Ruukki and NCC Construction Sverige have agreed to the delivery and installation of steel structures for a bridge to be built at Motala in Sweden. Ruukki will also have a role in the design solutions for the 620-meter-long bridge.
Ruukki and NCC Construction Sverige have agreed to the delivery and installation of steel structures for a bridge to be built at Motala in Sweden. Ruukki will also have a role in the design solutions for the 620-meter-long bridge in cooperation with the main contractor and the designer.
The contract is worth more than EUR 10 million.
Ruukki's deliveries are scheduled for 2011 and 2012, and the Motala bridge is planned to open for traffic in 2013. The new bridge will have V-supports; the longest span will be almost 160 meters.
Ruukki has already delivered steel structures for a number of road bridges and a railway bridge for the E6 road project in Sweden. Installation work has been completed on a 600-meter road bridge spanning the Hudälven river and on the Partihallsförbindelsen link bridge in Gothenburg to interconnect the E45 motorway and E20 road. The bridge over the Hudälven river is scheduled for completion this year and the link bridge for 2011.
