Ruukki continues to be listed in two Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes: DJSI World and DJSI STOXX. The indexes include the top companies that are committed to sustainable development.
As it did last year, Ruukki ranks among the world's seven best steel companies on the DJSI World list. There are 317 companies from 27 different countries (including six Finnish companies) featured in DJSI World, and 154 companies (seven of which are Finnish) from 14 European countries in DJSI STOXX.
"Ruukki is now included on DJSI World for the second year running and the European DJSI STOXX for the third year running. We have maintained a sustained focus on improvement in areas such as know-how, safety, and environmental management. Our response to the challenges of climate change rises from enhancing the energy efficiency of both our products and our production," said Toni Hemminki, Vice President, Energy and Environment.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes have been measuring corporate efforts to improve sustainability since 1999. Corporate sustainability performance is analyzed each year by an independent assessment party, SAM Research AG. Index companies are also subject to continuous tracking.
