Ruukki Engineering to Adjust Production in Sweden

Rautaruukki announced that its engineering division, Ruukki Engineering, is planning to initiate employer-employee negotiations at its sites in Hässleholm and Oskarström in Sweden as it adjusts production in response to weakened demand in the Division's customer segments.
 
The company manufactures welded components for the lifting, handling and transportation equipment industry at the two sites, which employ 130 people (Hässleholm site) and 58 (Oskarström site). The company is estimating that a maximum of 25 jobs will be reduced per site.
 
The company said that employer-employee negotiations would be initiated immediately.
 
Rautaruukki supplies metal-based components, systems and integrated systems to the construction and engineering industries, including a wide selection of metal products and services. Rautaruukki has operations in 26 countries, employs 14,300 people, and reported net sales of EUR 3.9 billion in 2008. The corporation uses the marketing name Ruukki.
