Russula to Provide Water Treatment Plant for Ahmsa Steckel Mill, Reheat Furnace
01/07/2009 - Russula will supply a complete new water treatment plant for Altos Hornos de Mexico’s Project Fenix Steckel Mill and reheat furnace.
Altos Hornos de Mexico SA (AHMSA) has selected Russula to supply a complete new water treatment plant for its Project Fenix Steckel Mill and reheat furnace.
Russula will supply all basic and detailed engineering plus mechanical and electrical equipment for the water treatment plant. Russula also will provide comprehensive installation advisement.
The main equipment will be designed around Russula’s twin decanting concept, complete with ring filtration and field-erected cooling towers. The recirculating water system will be designed to meet stringent water quality requirements, including total suspended solids, pH and temperature.
The new water treatment plant will have the capacity for 32,000 USGPM/ 7250 m3/hour contact water and 20,300 USGPM/4600 m3/hour noncontact water. A similar but smaller system has been in operation at Nucor Steel Connecticut since May 2008.
