Russula Receives Contract for Allegheny Ludlum Project
05/19/2011 - Fives Stein Inc has awarded a contract to Russula Corp. for the supply of the automation for two 250 tons per hour walking beam slab reheat furnaces.
Fives Stein Inc has awarded a contract to Russula Corp. for the supply of the automation for two 250 tons per hour walking beam slab reheat furnaces.
The furnaces are being supplied to Allegheny Ludlum Corp. as part of the new hot strip mill from Siemens Industry Inc. The strip mill is currently under construction in Brackenridge, Pa. The new mill will produce a wide range of flat-rolled products, from carbon steels to stainless steel, titanium and high-temperature alloys.
Russula’s scope of supply includes the PLC’s that will provide combustion control as well control of slab movement inside the furnaces. Russula also will provide a comprehensive HMI/operator control package as well as motor control centers for the furnaces. Russula is also responsible for training, installation supervision, commissioning and installation engineering.
