Russian Mill Breaks Hot Strip Production Record
09/05/2018 - Russia’s PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) said one of its hot rolling mills set a record in July, producing nearly 528,000 metric tons during the month.
In a statement, the company said the continuous sheet mill has been working at capacity over the past few years and had last set a production record in May. However, the new record improves on that performance by 400 metric tons, taking it to 527,955 metric tons.
The company said the production has been enabled in part by an overhaul of the mill that included the addition of a fourth reheating furnace.
