Russel Metals Installs Red Bud Stretcher Leveler Retrofit
09/01/2014 - Russel Metals, located in Mississauga, Ont., Canada, recently installed a Red Bud Industries .250” (6 mm) x 72” (1830 mm) stretcher leveler with SUREGRIP® technology in an existing cut-to-length line at its B&T Steel Division in Stoney Creek, Ont.
The stretcher leveler and its accompanying components were part of a major upgrade of capabilities at the Stoney Creek facility.
The new stretcher leveler produces the flattest, most stable material possible while operating virtually independent of incoming strip shape and severity. The operator simply stretches the material until it is flat. The result is a flat product that will stay flat and is particularly well suited for laser cutting applications where flatness is essential.
Included in the retrofit were the .250” (6 mm) x 72” (1830 mm) stretcher leveler, roll feed system, and primary shear.
