Rotek Expands Seamless Ring Capacity
07/18/2016 - Thyssenkrupp’s Rotek Inc. said the installation of a new ring mill at its Aurora, Ohio, plant is on schedule and expects to put it into service on 1 September.
In a statement, thyssenkrupp said the new RAW 200/160 ring mill will expand Rotek’s capacity to roll midsized forgings, those with outer diameters of between 15 and 155 inches. Rings from that size range are often used in offshore oil platforms, oil pipelines, substructures for large cranes and tool and die components, the company said.
“By strengthening our capabilities in this critical diameter range, we are better able to provide faster delivery times to customers in the construction equipment as well as oil and gas markets which are vital to our business,” said thyssenkrupp Rotek chief executive Mark Girman in a statement.
