Romanian Mill Puts New Plate Leveler Into Service
06/09/2017 - ArcelorMittal’s integrated steel works in Romania has put its new Danieli hot leveler into service, according to the equipment supplier.
In a statement, Danieli said the leveler, which serves the No. 2 heavy plate mill, will allow for higher productivity and improved product quality.
“The new plate leveler replaced a machine that had been operating for over 30 years, increasing significantly … quality, consistency of flatness in the finished products and operational safety,” Danieli said.
“With 80% more leveling power and advanced automation, the new Danieli hot leveler ensures also the production of a higher range of thicknesses and qualities for plates used in applications such as energy pipes, shipbuilding and construction,” Danieli said.
