Rolling Mill Upgrades Slated for Tennessee Bar Plant
05/15/2022 - Gerdau Long Steel North America is planning US$67 million in improvements to its Jackson, Tenn., USA, mill, the company has announced.
According to Gerdau, the project is intended to expand the mill’s merchant bar offerings and improve its operational competitiveness. Work will include a variety of upgrades to Jackson’s rolling mill, roll shop, warehouse and warehouse conveyor.
“This marks the next step in Gerdau’s North American investment strategy, as we continue to modernize our operations to compete and grow in attractive markets,” said Chia Yuan Wang, Gerdau Long Steel North America president. “We are committed to providing our customers with world-class products and services.”
The project is set for completion in February 2024.
