Nucor Corp. announced that Richard Wechsler is joining Nucor as General Manager of International Business Development.

In his new position, Mr. Wechsler will report to Joe Rutkowski, Nucor's Executive Vice President of Business Development International and North America. Mr. Wechsler will be leaving his current position as President of Castrip LLC, but will assist with the transition of Castrip LLC to new leadership.

Mr. Rutkowski commented, "We are excited to have Richard join our team as we grow Nucor's presence internationally. Nucor has made very clear our strategy of growing internationally using innovative technologies and joint venture partnerships. Richard brings a unique combination of specific knowledge of the Castrip(R) technology as well as a wealth of contacts and experience in international business development within the steel industry."

A graduate of Princeton University (BSE '68) and Lehigh University (MBA '72), Mr. Wechsler has previously held executive positions with Bethlehem Steel, BHP (Australia) and SSAB (Sweden). He was appointed President of Castrip LLC at its formation in March 2000.
